by Impact Hub Khartoum in collaboration with UNDP Sudan, and other renowned environmental organizations in Sudan namely Mutasir Nimir Center for Environmental Culture as well as Sudanese Environmental Conservation

In Sudan the area of focus was heat waves and energy Efficiency where over 30 youthful Participants developed different projects during the 24hours Hackathon, it was really amazing seeing how projects were being developed within that short space of time but coming out to be brilliant ideas.
As a recap, participants were divided into 9 teams after a series of tantamount mentorship from the organizers of Impact Hub Khartoum lead by able Mr. Khalid Ali who is also one of the founding members of the Hub. With their dedication and more sharpen knowledge in team building the teams were developed within a scope of 15 good minutes wow what a wonderful team building experience, is that adorable? I believe and hope. YES! Who does that?
We were happy that we have teams to work on our cute ideas with a scalable impact in our communities around the globe.
The night was short for projects to be developed and most importantly the energy could run low but happily, our organizers lead by Ms. Lina Adil were more Sensitive than highly magnets metals as they could warm us up with different activities such as singing, dancing, chit chat with mentors one being Ashraf Mizo, surprises were numerous to mention them. How glorious working while you felt time over, such a rescue team was, bringing more energy to us throughout the night of the 24hours Hackathon!
The teams developed different adorable projects starting from Bio Gas Station, Heat Cooling System, Sustainable City, Lake Harvest, Rain Drain System Among others!
My team developed a rain Drain System which was a combination of Professional civil engineer, a medical student as well as a geology student. After a series of discussions and pondering we happily reached that conclusion of developing a rain Drain System which is an affordable piping scheme that incorporates shallow depth of installations, optimum design, communal participatory approach and a high level of adaptability.
It was the longest day of our life as it was full of creativity and innovativeness to reach the timeline of 24hours of Hackathon. The duties and responsibilities had to be shared and evenly distributed to match with the stopwatch of the morning of the
Presentation or/and pitching ceremony
The night was short and the morning started, reminding us of the biggest day of jury hearing. The impact Hub Khartoum space is a wonderful place to be with its neatness, cleanliness powered by beautiful plants smiling at you brightly. That adds up to your deteriorated energy and makes you work work work and keep working till you reach the finish line.
Long and last we were fascinated of course surprised after our team emerged third place winning out of 9
Teams. The joyous moment was never an ending one, we couldn't believe that we were parting but there was no regret as the bond were much stronger among teams
